Everything you need to know about working with BestSwitch for your custom membrane switch, FPC, touch screen, or interface component project. If your question isn't answered here, our engineering team is happy to help — contact us anytime.
Lead times vary depending on complexity and order quantity. For standard custom designs without complex tooling requirements, prototype samples are typically completed within 5-10 business days after design approval. Production orders of 1,000-5,000 units generally ship within 15-20 business days after sample approval. Larger orders of 10,000+ units may require 25-35 business days for complete manufacturing and quality testing.
We can work with most common design file formats including Adobe Illustrator (AI), CorelDRAW (CDR), AutoCAD (DWG/DXF), SolidWorks, and PDF drawings. For the most accurate quotation, please provide your artwork or mechanical drawing with dimensions, material specifications, desired circuit layout, connector type, and any special requirements such as waterproofing or backlighting. If you have only a concept or rough sketch, our engineering team can assist with design development.
Yes, absolutely. Our engineering team has extensive experience helping startups, product design firms, and small-to-medium enterprises develop custom membrane switch solutions from concept through production. We provide free design-for-manufacturability (DFM) feedback on all client designs and offer paid consulting services for full design development including schematic design, material selection, and test specification development.
Yes, we frequently receive requests to replicate or improve upon existing switch designs. Our reverse engineering service includes dimensional measurement, material analysis, circuit tracing, and performance characterization of existing components. We can then manufacture replacement parts that are form-fit-function compatible or propose design improvements that enhance durability, reduce cost, or add features such as backlighting or enhanced sealing.
Our minimum order quantity varies by product type and complexity. For standard membrane switches, prototype quantities as low as 10-50 pieces are accepted. For production orders, typical MOQs range from 500 to 1,000 pieces for standard designs and 200 to 500 pieces for more complex assemblies. We work with clients to find a production plan that matches their budget and timeline.
